Magpies & Peacocks products are up-cycled, reworked, or redesigned from reclaimed materials diverted from landfills, or are vintage resale pieces curated by the non-profit design house. We collect and use in our designs post-consumer textiles diverted from landfills to disrupt the cycle of waste in the fashion industry and the ongoing catastrophic trend in fashion - the monumental rise and denial of textile waste, its grave environmental impact and the mistreatment of garment workers + animals across the industry. Designed by our creative director and founder, our upcycled looks are produced in-house by the Magpies & Peacocks MAKR Collective production team in Houston, TX. Sales benefit our 501(c)3 non-profit design house work in environmental art & design including our MAKR Collective workforce development program for survivors of trauma and our MAKR Collective Incubator program.
